Mike Whyte, President

Mike is a 25-year veteran of the waste and recycling industry with an extensive background in the management of various recycling facilities and waste hauling operations. Over the last 19 years, Mike has become a thought leader in the Electronics Recycling Industry and a subject-matter expert with regard to the New York State Electronics Recycling & Reuse Act. 

As President of EWASTE+, Mike has been successful in creating and growing a dynamic electronics recycling company with an outstanding leadership team, excellent customer service and a tremendously diverse business plan.  Since 1995, EWASTE+ has collected and processed nearly 100 million pounds of electronic waste, has won numerous awards including the Rochester Business Journal Environmental Leadership Award and has been listed five times as a member of the “Rochester Top 100”; the Rochester area’s fastest growing, privately held companies.  

Mike graduated from Binghamton University in 1985 with a BA in Mathematics, is a member of Vistage International Chief Executive Program, and is currently a board member for the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) Worldata Holding Company.

Christopher Smith, Director of Compliance

For the past 13 years, Chris has been an instrumental contributor to EWASTE+ QEH&S Management System anchored by three major ISO level certifications; R2, RIOS & NAID.

Chris graduated from Mansfield University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and is also a 12-year veteran of the United States Air Force; where he served as a decorated member on an elite team of Worldwide Airborne Command Post Technicians.

Darla Lacey, Director of Finance

Darla joined EWASTE+ in 2014 and is responsible for the financial reporting of the Company and is an instrumental contributor to the EWASTE+ Leadership Team. Darla is accountable for the annual budget process and maintaining a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and to enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

Darla holds a Master’s of Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Management Accounting from the University of Maryland; and a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York College at Oswego.  She is an active member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

Stacey Milliman, Director of Human Resources

Stacey joined EWASTE+ in January of 2005 and is responsible for the leadership of all human resource programs and functions throughout the organization.  She has played a critical role in the execution of the organizations growth and strategic initiatives over the last 11 years including the development and management of a multi-site Human Resources Information System to effectively support the EWASTE+ team.

Stacey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). 

Andrew Vermette, Director of Operations

Andrew joined EWASTE+ in 2012 and is responsible for the leadership and development of all asset management, data destruction, and product recovery operations across all three EWASTE+ locations. He brings over 12 years of progressive industry experience in the areas of operations management, process improvement, and team building through bottom-up management strategies.

Andrew attended Howell Cheney Regional Vocational Technical School where he completed over 2,000 hours of hands-on management information systems and computer engineering coursework. In 2011, Andrew completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training through a partnership program between Lockheed Martin and Rutgers University. He carries a valid CompTIA A+ Computer Hardware Technician certification and is an active Vistage key executive group member.
